E2 Nova values your privacy and wants to ensure that you fully understand how we protect your personal data before using any EVOX services. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and governed by the EVOX Terms of Use. By using EVOX services and applications, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the data collection and related usage terms set forth in this Privacy Policy. We will obtain and use your data in accordance with applicable laws.
What is the scope of this Privacy Policy?
This Privacy Policy forms part of the EVOX Terms of Use and applies to all user data (including personally identifiable information) that we collect and process when you use the EVOX website, services, or applications. This Policy does not apply to companies not owned or controlled by E2 Nova, personnel not employed or managed by us, or other third parties. As described herein, E2 Nova may, under certain circumstances and as required by law, disclose user information to partners or third parties, but only to the extent necessary to provide services or comply with legal requirements.
Types of Data We Collect
E2 Nova collects only the minimum amount of information necessary to provide our services. We may collect the following types of information (hereinafter referred to as “Personally Identifiable Information”) from you or your mobile device:
-
Information voluntarily provided by users. When you use E2 Nova services (for example, registering as an EVOX user, updating your status, or requesting contact information), you may provide E2 Nova with personal data such as your name, mobile phone number, email address, push notification display name (if applicable), billing information (if applicable), and device-related information.
-
Information from third-party services used by users. If you use features related to third-party services such as Facebook or LINE, we may obtain data from these platforms that you have authorized us to access (such as public profile information, email address, etc.), but only within the scope of your authorization. When you register or link a Facebook official account, we may obtain your authorized public page information (such as name and ID) and authorized user message content (such as replies, sent messages, or messages viewed within EVOX).
-
Cookie information. When you visit the EVOX website, we may store one or more cookies (small text files consisting of letters and numbers) on your device to uniquely identify your browser. E2 Nova uses both session cookies and persistent cookies. Persistent cookies remain after you close the browser and may be deleted according to your browser’s instructions. Session cookies are automatically deleted when you close the browser. You may manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. However, if you choose to reject all cookies, certain EVOX website features may not function properly.
-
Usage behavior information. When you use the EVOX website or services, our servers may automatically record specific information, including your network requests, IP address, browser type and language, referring/exit pages and URLs, platform type, number of clicks, domain names, landing pages, pages viewed and their sequence, time spent on specific pages, date and time of requests, cookies that may uniquely identify your browser, and your phone number and status messages.
-
Mobile device permissions. To provide full functionality, EVOX may request access to your device permissions, such as the camera or photo gallery to capture or upload images for use as a profile picture or microphone and Siri permissions to enable calls or allow dialing through Siri. In addition, E2 Nova may access your mobile device’s contact list to identify other EVOX users (“in-network” numbers) or classify other numbers as “out-of-network.” These numbers will be stored as one-way, irreversible hashed values.
Information Not Collected
The EVOX application only associates contact names with phone numbers locally on your mobile device. We do not actively collect names, email addresses, physical addresses, or other contact information from your phone’s address book or contact list. Only phone numbers are recognized, and such related information is not transmitted to EVOX servers. For example, if you label a phone number in your contacts as “Vincent,” that name will only appear in your EVOX in-app contact list and will not be collected or stored on our servers.
In addition, we do not actively collect your location data. However, you may choose to share your location with other users through EVOX services.
Purpose of Data Use
We use your information for the following purposes:
-
To provide and maintain service functionality. We use your personal information (such as your mobile phone number) to ensure the EVOX website, applications, and services function properly, including login, communications, and status updates. Such data will be retained for as long as your account is active.
-
Data retention and deletion. Any billing information collected from you will be deleted within thirty (30) days after you terminate your EVOX account.
-
Public information. Personal information or status content you voluntarily disclose on EVOX services may be viewed, collected, and used by other users (unless those users have been blocked by you). For example, when you update your status message, your name (as stored in another user’s contact list) may be displayed to that user.
-
Marketing and non-marketing purposes. Unless you explicitly consent, we will not use your phone number or other personal information (such as your email address) to send commercial or marketing messages. However, we may contact you for non-marketing or administrative purposes (such as service change notifications or customer support).
-
Compliance with laws and third-party platform rules (e.g., Facebook Platform Terms).
-
Service optimization and analytics. We may use a combination of personal data and anonymized information (such as cookies, IP addresses, browser type, and clickstream data) to improve the quality of the EVOX website and services, develop new features, analyze user preferences and trends, and provide personalized content. For example:
-
(a)Remember information so that you do not need to re-enter it during your current or next use of EVOX services or the EVOX website;
-
(b) Provide customized content;
-
(c)Monitor usage metrics such as total visitor counts and pages viewed;
-
(d)Support customer service by tracking your subscription services and providing technical assistance.
Data Sharing and Third-Party Services
When you authorize us to access information from third-party services (such as Facebook, LINE social media, or integrated services), we may obtain and use certain personal information from those services (such as your name, email address, profile picture, etc.) or share your information with authorized third parties. Such information will only be used to provide or optimize services and will be processed and disclosed in accordance with this Policy. All information access and sharing will follow the scope of your authorization settings with the third-party service, and you may manage sharing options in that service’s privacy settings. Your interactions with third-party services are also subject to the privacy policies of those third parties. We will not sell your data to any third party without your prior consent (except as required by law or government authority).
Facebook Data Processing Notice:
Upon your authorization, EVOX will access content from your Facebook official account solely for the purposes of assisting you in replying to messages and reviewing message records within EVOX. This data will not be used for any other purpose or shared with third parties without your consent. EVOX will not obtain or store your personal Facebook login credentials.
User Data Rights
We respect your rights regarding the protection of your personal data and are committed to ensuring your control over it. In accordance with applicable privacy laws (such as the Personal Data Protection Act and GDPR), you are entitled to the following rights:
-
Right to Access and Review: You may inquire whether we hold your personal data and request access to such data.
-
Right to Rectification and Supplementation: If you find that the data we hold is incorrect or incomplete, you may request correction or supplementation.
-
Right to Deletion: Under certain circumstances, you may request that we delete your personal data, such as when the data is no longer necessary for collection or processing.
You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data you provided to EVOX at any time, or withdraw authorization for the use of your Facebook data. To exercise the above rights, please contact our customer support team. We will respond within the statutory period and may request identity verification to protect your rights.
Data Security
We adopt reasonable technical and administrative measures to protect your data, including encryption, firewalls, and access controls. In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected users in accordance with legal requirements. For third-party services (such as Facebook and LINE), user consent will be obtained separately, and data will be processed in accordance with each third party’s policies.
